From 8 to 15 September 2024, 20 students and 2 teachers went on an unforgettable language immersion week in Ireland. The trip was a great mix of English lessons and exploring the local culture, giving students the chance to improve their language skills while discovering Ireland’s rich history and traditions.
The first part of the trip was spent in Bray, a charming coastal town known for its scenic views, lively atmosphere, and easy access to Dublin. The students attended half-day sessions at a local language school. Their classes focused on improving conversational skills and building confidence in using English in real-world situations, as well as on Irish culture and traditions. The afternoons were dedicated to exploring the surrounding areas, with visits to Wicklow Gaol and the historic ruins of the Black Castle, as well as trips to Dublin, Ireland`s lively capital city with its many traditional pubs, where locals and visitors gather to enjoy music, conversation, and a sense of community.
After completing their language classes in Bray, the group traveled to Galway for the second half of their adventure. On the west coast, students immersed themselves in the vibrant city atmosphere of Galway and embarked on several excursions, with a standout experience being the visit of the Cliffs of Moher. Another highlight was a sheepdog demonstration, showcasing the traditional skills used in Irish farming. They also visited Kylemore Abbey, a stunning historic site set against the backdrop of Connemara's rugged beauty.
On the journey back from Galway, the students made a stop at Clonmacnoise Monastery, a renowned early Christian site. There, they explored the ancient ruins and learned about the history of the monastery. This final visit added a meaningful touch to the trip, rounding off a week full of learning, adventure, and cultural discovery.
